CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M’s Mia Hammerschmid shot an even-par 71 on Sunday to sit tied for seventh following the opening round of the Emerald Coast Classic at Baytowne Golf Club (Par 71 – 6,125 Yards) in Destin, Florida.
The freshman from Düsseldorf, Germany had five birdies in the opening round with three of the feathers coming on the front-nine. Her 4.50 scoring average on the four-different par-five holes ties for first among the 93 tournament competitors.
