Ex-Quincy official pleads guilty to stealing from senior center

Tom Clasby, Quincy’s fired elder services director, pleaded guilty Monday, March 9, to all 12 counts of fraud and theft of federal funds that officials say he spent on steak tips, a Prius and a recording studio session, among other things.

He embezzled more than $144,000 in cash and material goods from the city between 2020 to 2024. Prosecutors had formerly said the amount stolen was more than $120,000. The defense is contesting $30,000 of that amount.

In January 2025, Clasby, who lives in Fitchburg, pleaded not guilty to one count of theft concerning a program receiving federal funds, two counts of wire fraud, five counts of mail fraud and four counts of transporting stolen property…
