Storm Threat Late Tonight, Another Weather System Targets Thursday Overnight

COLUMBUS, GA. (WRBL)-The line of storms is expected to move into eastern Alabama, mainly impacting Chambers and Lee counties, before potentially spreading into west Georgia, including Troup, Harris, Muscogee, and Talbot counties. Some storms could hold together as they move through the area, bringing the threat of isolated damaging wind gusts, small hail, and localized street flooding.

Another round of active weather is also possible later this week. A second Weather Aware period is shaping up for late Thursday night into early Friday morning, when another system could bring the potential for isolated severe storms. Details on timing and intensity will become clearer as the system gets closer.

In the meantime, temperatures will remain unusually warm ahead of the next system. Highs are expected to stay in the 80s with overnight lows in the 60s. Once the stronger storm system moves through later in the week, cooler air will settle in, bringing highs down into the low 70s with overnight lows dipping into the upper 40s and low 50s by the weekend…
