(KRON) — One of two men arrested in the fatal shooting of a young mother in Sunnyvale earlier this year was the father of her child, police said on Monday. Officers with the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) initially responded on Jan. 7 at around 9:39 p.m. to the area of 1225 Vienna Drive.
Arriving at the scene, officers found a woman inside a vehicle who had been shot. The woman, later identified as 24-year-old Kembery Chirinos-Flores of Mountain View, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Thursday, March 5, Sunnyvale DPS arrested two men in connection to the incident. Alfonso Inestroza, also known as Franquin Inestroza-Martinez of Hollister, and Gerzon Chirinos, also known as Gerzon Chirinos-Munguia of Sunnyvale, were both arrested in a coordinated operation that spanned two counties and multiple law enforcement agencies, police said.
