Second victim in Oakland homicide identified as 25-year-old Markise Martin

(KRON) — The Oakland Police Department has identified the second victim in a fatal mass shooting Saturday that left two people dead. According to police, 25-year-old Markise Martin was killed along with 33-year-old Latetia Bobo, who was previously identified.

Oakland PD responded to the shooting just after 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 7 in the 400 block of 14th Street. Officers, responding to a report of gunfire, located seven people at the scene who had been struck by gunfire.

Officers rendered aid at the scene; however, Bobo succumbed to her injuries. Martin was transported to a local hospital where he died around 11:30 a.m.

The remaining victims were listed in stable condition, police said.

Multiple individuals were detained at the scene and several firearms were recovered, police said. An investigation into the shooting remains active, police said, with officers actively seeking suspects in the case…
