A Perkasie family is seeking community support after a devastating late-night house fire last week destroyed their home and left them temporarily displaced.
The fire broke out shortly before midnight Friday, March 6, at a two-story home in the 200 block of West Walnut Street in Perkasie Borough. Emergency dispatchers reported a fully involved dwelling fire with possible entrapment at about 11:51 p.m., prompting a large regional response. Firefighters arriving at 205 W. Walnut St. encountered heavy fire conditions with flames visible from the second floor of the home, according to emergency dispatch reports.
Crews from Perkasie, Sellersville, Chalfont, Milford Township, Hilltown Township, and West End fire companies, along with St. Luke’s/Grand View EMS, worked to battle the blaze after evacuation tones were sounded shortly after midnight and a second alarm was dispatched minutes later to bring additional resources to the scene.
