BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore issued a statement on Monday addressing a case involving the rape of a 94-year-old woman in Baton Rouge.
In his statement, Moore addresses concerns that the suspect, Jeremiah Taylor, 22, had a prior rape charge. The district attorney stated that Taylor was released because the victim in that case could not be located. Without the victim’s testimony, the State could not continue the trial, and it was subsequently dismissed.
