Hy-Vee customers donate over $8,000 to families of fallen Christian County deputies

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Springfield Hy-Vee says its customers have donated $8,520 for the families of the two Christian County deputies who were killed in the line of duty in February.

Deputy Gabriel Ramirez was killed during a traffic stop near Highlandville on Monday, Feb. 23, triggering a manhunt. After the suspect was located later that night, Deputy Michael Hislope died after the suspect shot at law enforcement.

Both the Glenstone Avenue Hy-Vee and Sunshine Street Hy-Vee collected donations for over a week for the Christian County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, who distrbutes the funds to the families…
