After a three-day jury trial, a man was found guilty Thursday, March 5 of setting fire to an occupied mobile home in Greene County in 2024.
After deliberating for just under 90 minutes, the Greene County jury found Jose Morales, 43, guilty of arson in the first degree but not guilty of tampering with a motor vehicle, according to a news release from the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office.
The case dates back to Oct. 15, 2024, when Battlefield Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire in Brookline. According to the release, the property owner had asked Morales, who had been living at the residence, to leave due to disruptive behavior and excessive drinking.
