With once surging enrollment, how did an Ann Arbor Christian college fall apart?

ANN ARBOR, MI — As Concordia University moves toward selling its 187‑acre Ann Arbor campus, critics say leaders who opted to shutter the site cared less about saving a struggling school and more about offloading a property that could fetch more than $45 million.

Two years since the downsizing, several former Concordia leaders, employees and alumni feel President Erik Ankerberg and others on Concordia Wisconsin’s board never wanted to preserve the Ann Arbor campus. Now a vast empty plot of land, the old campus’ future is in doubt.
