BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Truxtun Tower, also known as the Bank of America building, could see new ownership under the city of Bakersfield later this year, according to the Bakersfield City Council agenda for Wednesday.
The Bank of America’s Truxtun Branch permanently closed on Feb. 27, 2024. The City Council has been discussing the possible purchase of the building since February of 2025 with no actions being taken at the time.
During the closed session of its Jan. 7 meeting, the City Council negotiated the “price and terms of payment for purchase” of the 10-story, 127,504-square-foot building at 1430 and 1440 Truxtun Ave with ASU Commercial Real Estate company…
