YANCEY COUNTY, N.C. — High atop Yancey County, Perry Vaile Adams and her family continue to share an overwhelming sense of gratitude in the aftermath of Helene. The historic storm that devastated much of the region caused only minimal damage on their property.
“I feel unreasonably blessed,” Adams said. “I can’t believe that we’re so lucky.”
