Maximo Polanco Killed In New Jersey Turnpike Crash

At 9:57 a.m., a Kenworth dump truck, driven by Maximo Polanco of Ridgefield (Bergen County) was traveling northbound on the New Jersey Turnpike approaching the Grover Cleveland Service area in Woodbridge when it struck the back of an International tractor-trailer, Christopher Postorino, a spokesman for the New Jersey State police, said.

The crash caused the International to strike the back of a Freightliner, Postorino said. The Kenworth and International became fully engulfed in flames, Postorino said.

Polanco was pronounced dead at the scene, Postorino said. The drivers of the Freightliner and International sustained minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital, Postorino said…
