Police remind parents about electric dirt bike laws

The Gulf Breeze Police Department is reminding parents about the legal differences between e-bikes and electric dirt bikes, also known as e-motos. These vehicles are becoming more common in neighborhoods, but many are not aware that electric dirt bikes are not street legal under Florida law.

Electric dirt bikes lack pedals, have high-powered motors, and are designed for off-road use only. Riding them on public roads, bike lanes, or sidewalks can lead to fines, vehicle impoundment, and a court appearance.
