Starting June 2026, all NYC buildings with 1 to 9 residential units must use the official NYC Bin for trash. These bins come in nine sizes and colors and can be bought at Home Depot (in-store or online at homedepot.com/NYCBins) or delivered through Instacart, DoorDash, or Uber Eats. Only the trash bin is required, but matching bins for recycling and compost are also available if you want them.
