Inmate captured after escaping ICE custody in Rockdale County, sheriff’s office says

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Authorities captured an inmate who escaped from the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Rockdale County on Monday, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff Eric Levett posted a video message on the agency’s Facebook page Monday afternoon to explain the heavy law enforcement presence in the area of Chambers Drive and Sigman Road, less than half a mile from the Rockdale County Jail in unincorporated Conyers.
