Man accused of killing UK student in crash takes plea deal

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The man accused of causing a crash that killed a UK student took a plea deal on Monday, March 9.

Joseph Siami had been indicted on several charges, including driving under the influence, for the November 2021 crash that killed Chase Lawson.

Under the plea, Siami’s murder charge was amended to manslaughter for 10 years in prison, and two first-degree assault charges were amended to second-degree assault for five years in prison each…
