Hackers take down Woodville Township website, rebuild may cost $3,000

WOODVILLE TOWNSHIP – After a cybersecurity incident, Woodville Township doesn’t face a crisis, but the fix will require a few thousand dollars of work.

“We were hooked up with GoDaddy and they said it was hacked, but we haven’t gotten any additional information from them. It wasn’t linked to any of our other stuff. All it did is make our site crash,” Trustee Paul Runion said. “We looked at a couple smaller local people, but we wanted to go with someone that had more experience with cybersecurity protection.”

The trustees approved the Shumaker Technology Group to create a new website at their March 4 meeting for as much as $3,000. The estimated cost is lower than that, at $2,295. STG specializes in building websites for municipalities…
