A suburban Chicago couple has been accused of abusing an 11-year-old child for several years after the boy was found by a business owner bleeding and bruised, wearing only his underwear, authorities said.
The Fox Lake Police Department said it received a report of a child who appeared battered and without clothes around 9:30 a.m. Friday and was in the area of Nippersink Boulevard and Grand Avenue. Officers said a local business employee reported seeing a child with blood on his face and multiple welts, bruises and scratches on his body.
After responding to the scene, police said the young boy was immediately taken into protective custody and transported to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital for a medical evaluation…
