AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – More than 50 people impacted by the Feb. 2024 Windy Deuce Fire have filed a combined four lawsuits in Federal Court. The suits were all transferred to federal court from surrounding County District Courts.
The suits allege that Polaris Operating LLC was negligent in maintaining equipment on a drilling site where the fire is believed to have started.

Due to Polaris being in the middle of reorganization following a bankruptcy filing in 2023, the lawsuits named Stout Risius Ross, LLC, and their employee Douglas Brickley as the defendants in the case.
