BROWN COUNTY (WLUK) — Power line work along the Fox River is part of a project to ensure reliable service and includes shoreline stabilization, according to the American Transmission Company.
The company is rebuilding 5.5 miles of power line from the Highway V Substation in Allouez to an existing ATC electric pole near Voyageur Park in De Pere.
“This project, part of ATC’s asset renewal program to maintain reliable electric service, replaces about 73 aging electric poles and upgrades the power line along its existing utility corridor, including areas adjacent to the Fox River and the Fox River State Trail,” the company said in an email to FOX 11. “For environmental and safety reasons, some new electric poles are being relocated farther inland, especially where erosion had moved older poles closer to the Fox River. ATC is also stabilizing the shoreline to protect the river and prevent future erosion.”…
