Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra to ‘Tango!’ Sunday at the Stafford Centre

The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra invites audiences to experience the fire and soul of Argentina at its “Tango!” concert on Sunday, March 15 at 2 p.m. at the Stafford Centre, 10505 Cash Rd, Stafford. The program showcases the rich musical heritage of Latin America, from sweeping orchestral works to the unforgettable passion of the tango.

Leading the orchestra is celebrated guest conductor Martín García León, the first orchestra conductor from Patagonia, Argentina. Born in General Roca, Río Negro, García León began his piano studies at age 14 before moving to Buenos Aires to study orchestral conducting. He went on to make history as the first Argentine conductor of the Saint Petersburg Symphony under the

mentorship of Alexander Polyanichko. His international career has taken him to stages in Vietnam, the Czech Republic, and across South America, and he currently holds a Master’s degree from the University of Houston. García León brings an authentic and deeply personal connection to the Latin American repertoire on this program…
