Ichika Brings Rare ‘Kappo-Style’ Kaiseki To Plano

The Culinary Vision Behind Ichika

The culinary program at Ichika is led by chef Leo Kekoa, a well-known figure in the North Texas food scene. Kekoa, who also co-owns the acclaimed Kinzo in Frisco, is one of three master chefs leading the restaurant’s culinary program.

A native of Hawaii, Kekoa grew up around sushi through his grandfather’s restaurant before spending several years living in South Korea and Japan. After returning to the culinary world, he spent eight years working at Nobu Dallas, one of the region’s most recognized Japanese restaurants, before launching Kinzo and expanding his presence in North Texas’ dining scene…
