Wanted man accused of beating rooster outside Joliet supermarket

JOLIET, Ill. (WGN) — A Joliet man already wanted by police is accused of animal cruelty after police allege he beat up his pet rooster outside an area supermarket.

Francisco Arreola, 39, faces several charges, including aggravated animal cruelty, misdemeanor cruelty to animals, an animal in entertainment violation, and obstructing Justice. Arreola also had two active arrest warrants out of Kane County.

It was on Saturday, March 7, that police responded to the 600 block of Collins Street at Gonzalez Fresh Produce following reports of a man beating a rooster outside the store.
