LSU Health Shreveport and the LSU Health Sciences Foundation take another step in their expansion to Mall St. Vincent. On Feb. 27, the LSU Board of Supervisors voted to give the “next level of approval” to the project.
The Board agreed to allow the Foundation to move forward with work on an initial development and lease agreement. A Project Management Committee will be formed to manage this “development period” of the project.
The project will be handled in two phases. The first will include a buildout of approximately 92,500 square feet of research labs, related offices, and a vivarium, an artificial habitat to keep plants and/or animals for observation and research, at a cost of $90 million.
