(Aging Untold) — Just outside Wichita, Kansas, seniors and children share daily life under one roof at Scholwater Villa, an intergenerational center that combines a traditional nursing home with a daycare facility.
The arrangement pairs nursing home residents — referred to as “Grandfriends” — with children who attend the Heston Child Development Center, located within the same building. Life Enrichment Coordinator Jill Moore said the setup removes a common barrier.
“It lets us be together without the obstacle of being in different buildings,” Moore said.
