MARTIN COUNTY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that a Monday morning crash led to the death of a Lubbock man and left another with minor injuries near SH 349 and CR 4800.
According to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), an investigation revealed that a Cadillac was traveling southbound on SH 349 when it veered onto the rumble strips. The driver of the Cadillac overcorrected, causing the vehicle to move into the northbound lanes. A Mercedes, driven by 46-year-old Samuel Jones Lookadoo from Lubbock, TX, was traveling northbound on SH 349 and was struck head-on by the Cadillac.
Lookadoo was declared dead at the scene, while the driver of the Cadillac sustained minor injuries and was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital…
