Winter weather advisory for Cascades of Marion and Linn counties until early Wednesday evening

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory at 1:48 p.m. on Monday in effect until Wednesday at 5 p.m. for Cascades of Marion and Linn counties.

The weather service comments, “Snow expected above 3500 ft. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.”

“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous,” adds the weather service. “Have a winter emergency driving kit readily available. Common items to include: flashlight, batteries, blankets, a shovel, water, non-perishable food items, tire chains, etc. Slow down and use caution while traveling.”
