AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich announced Tuesday the sentencing of an Akron man for kidnapping and rape.
24-year-old Cornelius Rogers was sentenced to 20 to 25 years in prison for kidnapping and raping a woman who worked at the Springfield Red Roof Inn in 2024.
Rogers was also sentenced for charges related to a separate 2024 incident.
According to the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office, Rogers has also been designated as a Tier III sex offender, which requires him to register every 90 days with the local sheriff for the rest of his life when released from prison…
