Former postal employee pleads guilty to stealing mail

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A former postal worker from Cattaraugus County is facing up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing a gift card from the mail, the U.S. District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.

Officials said 47-year-old Melissa Olson removed a Visa gift card from a stamped, first-class mail envelope sometime between April and May of 2023 while working as a rural carrier associate assigned to the Randolph Post Office.
