A brutal midday attack on Morris Park Avenue left a 22-year-old man bleeding from the head and sent NYPD detectives scrambling to track down a metal rod–wielding assailant who sped off in a silver SUV.
Police say it unfolded in front of 680 Morris Park Ave in the Van Nest section of the Bronx, when a man jumped out of a silver Volvo SUV, sprinted toward the 22-year-old and struck him multiple times in the head with a metal rod. The blows left the victim with a laceration that required hospital treatment.
Emergency Medical Services rushed the wounded man to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he is expected to recover, according to police. The attacker ran back to the waiting Volvo and took off before officers arrived. He remains on the loose…
