WILLIAMSTON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Tenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office sentenced a Williamston man for an attempted murder and armed robbery that happened last year.
Thomas Britt Alewine pled guilty to attempted murder and armed robbery for an incident at the Dollar General located on Highway 252 in Belton. Alewine was sentenced to 20 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections, and he will not be eligible for parole.
Anderson County deputies responded to the Dollar General on Feb. 19, 2025, in reference to an armed robbery and shooting. When officers arrived, they found a victim who had been shot by a man who pulled out a gun and demanded money from the store employees.
