63-year-old man identified as 4th Michigan tornado death

The Branch County Sheriff’s Office has identified a fourth person who died in last week’s tornadoes as William Akers, 63.

The sheriff said Akers was found in the Prairie Rose Lane and Tuttle Park Drive area of Union City, as were two other victims, Keri Ann Johnson, 54, and Penni Jo Guthrie, 65.

In neighboring Cass County, 12-year-old Silas Anderson was killed near Edwardsburg, just north of Michigan’s border with Indiana. A tornado also touched down in St. Joseph County. The tornadoes on Friday, March 6, injured at least 12 people, according to the National Weather Service…
