Longtime 6 News anchor Lori Tucker announces plans to retire

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — 6 News anchor Lori Tucker is retiring after more than three decades of keeping East Tennessee viewers informed.

Tucker started at WATE-TV 6 On Your Side in 1993. She has spent the last 33 years here working on projects she loves, from the Project Grad Knoxville laptop telethon, helping local students in their post-secondary education, to Operation Honor Guard and our Christmas toy drive. She also recently welcomed her third grandchild.

“Every time I make an ask for help in our community. You come through. I am so grateful for that wonderful volunteer spirit. And we have a lot of interesting things to do between now and when I say goodbye,” said Tucker. “But I am looking forward to the next adventure, and the biggest part of that is my growing family. We have three granddaughters now. Steve and I look forward to lots of travel together and with our kids and grandkids.”…
