Myrtle Beach leaders stop short of approving $162K Market Common traffic study

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Myrtle Beach leaders aren’t quite ready to approve what would be The Market Common’s most comprehensive traffic study, saying suggestions by city officials should come first.

“From my perspective, the only reason that we would engage in this type of study is if there is a big push to start making changes to speed limits against staff recommendations,” councilwoman Debbie Conner said Tuesday.

Data collected from 4.83 million vehicles counted along Farrow Parkway between April 1, 2025 and Feb. 5 showed that 85% were traveling at or below posted speed limits of between 33.5 to 42 mph…
