TOWN OF PENSAUKEE, Wis. (WBAY) – Two juveniles, a father and a bystander were rescued from the water Monday evening after the juveniles became stranded on a drifting ice chunk while fishing, according to an EMS official on scene.
The incident was reported at approximately 7 p.m. in the township of Pensaukee. Pensaukee Fire Department and Oconto Fire Rescue Department were both paged out and arrived on scene.
How the rescue unfolded
According to the EMS official, the two juveniles were fishing when ice conditions rapidly deteriorated. A father attempted to reach them by kayak, and a bystander also entered the water to assist.
