LUBBOCK, Texas — Nathan Herrera, 20, was arrested on March 3 in connection to a Lubbock shooting that occurred on March 1. Further information on this shooting has now been revealed.
According to court documents, Lubbock Police Department officers responded to a shots fired in the 1300 block of 65th Drive. When they arrived, victims told officers that they were sitting in their living room when bullets began hitting the outside of their apartment. Officers reported that there were two holes found in a first-floor window, one hole in the door and one hole in an upstairs bedroom. Victims at another apartment advised that they heard the shots being fired and had a second-story window damaged by the gunfire. A witness was able to provide LPD with footage from a doorbell camera, which showed two men carrying handguns. One of these handguns was described as an AR-style pistol with an extended magazine. These men were seen approaching the apartments, aiming their guns and then shooting multiple rounds toward them. Once the shooting finished, the two men were seen leaving the area. 63 bullet casings of two different calibers were recovered from the scene.

Following an investigation of the footage, police were able to identify Herrera as one of the men seen shooting at the apartments. He was later charged with four counts of Deadly Conduct by discharging a deadly weapon. An arrest warrant was issued for Herrera and later served on March 3. During his arrest, he was found in possession of several narcotics, which led to additional charges. Herrera remains in Lubbock County Detention Center on a bond totaling $177,000…
