Jail trust members demand answers after raises approved despite vote to delay them

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Tense moments unfolded Monday at the Oklahoma County Jail Trust meeting as board members accused the board’s chair and jail administrators of approving hundreds of thousands of dollars in staff raises the jail cannot afford after the board had already voted to delay them.

Those board members say the raises went into effect even though the trust had specifically voted in January to postpone them while the jail works to address a major budget deficit.
