Second teen arrested for deadly shooting outside southwest Albuquerque gas station

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Police have arrested a second teen following a shooting that left one teen dead and another injured in an Albuquerque Allsup’s parking lot earlier this year.

Jesus Avila Gonzalez, 17, was taken into custody Monday night on the charges of an open count of murder, conspiracy, tampering with evidence, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, and shooting at or from a motor vehicle. He will be booked into the Juvenile Detention Center, APD said.

The shooting took place on Jan. 20 at the gas station on 9501 Gibson Blvd SW. Police said the victim, Ethan Cruz, and another female, both age 17, were meeting with Gonzalez and Eduardo Huerta, 17, for a gun deal.
