Man accused of stealing person’s identity for job in Weld County

DENVER (KDVR) — A 24-year-old man was arrested last week after he allegedly used another person’s information for employment at a local Weld County business for approximately six months.

The man, identified by law enforcement as Geovany Velasquez-Vicente, was arrested at the business on March 6 on suspicion of criminal impersonation, according to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said a patrol deputy met with the alleged identify theft victim who reported receiving a document in the mail that caused him to believe his identity had been stolen.
