A pinch at the pump as oil, gas prices rise

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Oil prices briefly eclipsed $100 per barrel for the first time in more than three years Monday, which lead to higher gas prices across the United States.

The unleaded gas prices in Sioux Falls are sitting at around $2.99 but according to AAA, the average price in South Dakota right now is just over $3 — a jump of about 34 cents compared to a week ago.

“My little car, like I say, it don’t take much at all,” Randy Bigge of Sioux Falls said. “You know, sometimes the gas fluctuates, you know, up and down but I really don’t mind the gas price at all. If I had a bigger car it would take a lot more, but otherwise this don’t take much at all.”…
