Sky Harbor travelers face longer TSA lines amid partial government shutdown

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Travelers moving through Sky Harbor International Airport could face longer-than-normal security wait times as a partial government shutdown leaves TSA agents working without pay.

On Monday morning, Terminal 4 reported wait times of 10 to 30 minutes at its checkpoints, all of which led to the same area. Travelers may reduce wait times by switching lines. By noon, lines had cleared to waits of 10 minutes or less.

Travelers report smooth experience so far

One traveler who flew in from Sacramento said his experience at the airport was uneventful.

“It wasn’t too bad, actually. Sacramento airport was pretty easy getting in and out,” he said. “I see it’s pretty busy here today but didn’t have any issues.”
