BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man who drove drunk and hit a pedestrian in Arvin then left the scene made a “bad mistake,” defense counsel said.
But Javier Parra Lopez is a family man with no prior criminal record, Deputy Public Defender Thomas Pope said during a sentencing hearing Tuesday. He asked a judge to reduce the felony charges of which his client was convicted to misdemeanors.
