US Marshals: Cleveland fugitive captured in Puerto Rico after being on the run for 10 years

CLEVELAND — Robert “Bobby Champagne” Serina, 45, a Cleveland fugitive wanted in connection with multiple federal cases, was arrested late Tuesday night in Rincon, Puerto Rico, according to the U.S. Marshals.

Serina was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the FBI in the Northern District of Ohio for two open federal cases. In September 2015, Serina and eight others were charged with money laundering. In September 2016, he faced additional charges with eleven others, including conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and multiple counts of cocaine distribution.

After being charged with money laundering, Serina was released on bond. However, in January 2016, he violated the conditions of his bond by removing his ankle monitor and disappearing. Since then, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) has been searching for him…
