Former Cleveland councilwoman returns to City Hall as Bibb’s lead safety advisor

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Former City Councilwoman Rebecca Maurer is returning to City Hall, this time as one of Mayor Justin Bibb’s chief advisors on keeping children safe from lead poisoning.

Mayor Bibb’s Chief of Staff Ryan Puente announced the hire in an email to colleagues Tuesday, calling Maurer a “team captain” who will coordinate the city’s lead-safe housing efforts. She starts her job as Senior Advisor for Lead Accountability next Monday and will make $152,000 a year.
