PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — The Pickens County Planning Commission denied three phases of development proposed for the Greenville-Pickens Speedway Monday night.
After a two-hour-long meeting, the planning commission voted unanimously to deny Phases 3, 4, & 5 of RealtyLink‘s development plan. If passed, the racetrack would have been demolished, with industrial buildings built on the former site– a plan strongly opposed by residents.
Yet, even with this denial, the developers could go before the planning commission in the future and reapply with a new proposal…
