How to stay safe during severe weather

LANSING, (Mich.) WLNS — Overnight, storms could produce quarter-sized or larger hail and wind gusts of 60 mph or more that could cause serious damage — which is why the National Weather Service says it is important to follow proper safety measures.

For instance, find an inner room of your home away from windows and possible debris. That way, you will know where to go in the case of severe weather.

It’s also important to trim tree branches that are close to your home and make sure your phone is charged up. That way if power goes out, you can still make emergency calls. With power outages being a real possibility, Consumers Energy wants customers to know they’re prepared…
