SUV used in hit-and-run that killed pedestrian found as search for driver continues, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An SUV believed to have been used in a hit-and-run crash last year that killed a man has been found but police said the search for the driver is ongoing.

On Monday, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) said a blue BMW X5 with a Mississippi license plate was discovered. It is believed that the vehicle was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash on South Third Street between East Biscayne and East Rollins roads in the Whitehaven neighborhood that happened May 15, 2025.
