The leader of the Alabama Senate is calling for the biggest overhaul of the state’s energy regulating body in more than 100 years, expanding it from three members elected statewide to seven members elected by congressional district.
The new legislation, dubbed the “Power To The People Act,” would enlarge the Alabama Public Service Commission (PSC) fewer than two weeks after efforts to shift the commission from elected to appointed members were declared “dead.”
