Brookline Neighbors Fume After 28-Round Barrage Rocks Busy Boulevard

Brookline residents packed into a meeting with city public-safety brass and Pittsburgh police yesterday, demanding to know what is actually going to change after a late February shooting rattled the neighborhood. Nearly 30 rounds were fired outside a popular spot on Brookline Boulevard, neighbors said, and many arrived expecting clear answers and concrete steps to keep it from happening again.

Police told residents the shooting unfolded as a man in a wheelchair and a woman were getting into a car, when someone stepped out of an alley and unleashed 28 rounds, striking a nearby vehicle.
